100 Days Left
The Burner campaign is set to hit the ground running in August! With the August 19th primary just weeks away and just 100 days left until the November election, we had a massive volunteer turnout for our countdown kickoff last Saturday, July 26. Starting at 9 AM, volunteers poured into our offices all day. Supporters were set to work talking to voters both on the phone and at the door. Other work stations were in full swing with volunteers making buttons, maintaining our database, writing letters to the editor, preparing mailings and thank you letters, and sorting, counting, and preparing thousands of pieces of literature. There was never a lull in the action!
We were simply overwhelmed by the amount of support shown for Darcy and her campaign. The range of people eager to help clearly shows that her message resonates with all. Our youngest helper, an eleven-year-old, was joined by high schoolers, college and graduate students, working parents, and seniors. We had seasoned volunteers who have been with Darcy since the 2006 campaign working alongside some who had never before stepped foot into the office. The enthusiasm from our volunteers kept the energy high all day. This is people powered politics at its best.
While the offices were buzzing, we sent a crew of volunteers to march in the Renton River Days parade. This was another opportunity to get Darcy’s message of change and a new direction for the country out to the voters of the 8th Congressional District. As in other parades, our group was swarmed by eager children reaching out for candy, balloons, and stickers. Even the adults wanted a Darcy memento. The welcome we received from the families of the Renton community proved how eager Washington residents are to embrace the new leadership that Darcy offers.
We are deeply grateful to those who have dedicated their time and joined us on the campaign trail, and we encourage anyone who has yet to stop by to please do so! Whether at our headquarters in Bellevue, or in our Auburn and Graham offices, the hard work and can-do attitude of our volunteers are moving us down the pathway to achieving positive change for this country.
Our offices are open seven days a week and are located in Bellevue at 12443 Bel-Red Rd Suite 380, in Auburn at 240 Auburn Way S Unit 1A, and in Graham at 21722 Meridian Ave E. We would love for you to stop by!
