Darcy at the 11th Legislative District Meeting

On Tuesday April 15th Darcy spoke to the membership of the 11th Legislative District in the Renton Carpenters Hall.  Darcy talked about "The Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq" and the positive feedback and attention it has created. In the month since the plans launch, 53 candidates  and over 25,000 individual endorsers from across the country have endorsed the plan.

Darcy also spoke about the three things people need to do so that she can win in November:

  1. Make a donation to the campaign. No matter how small or how large the contribution, your contribution is essential to having the financial resources necessary to win.  Darcy’s campaign outraised Reichert once again this quarter by raising over $500,000! The campaign has a long way to go but is off to a great start.
  2. Talk to your neighbors about Darcy and about why she will be an effective legislator. Share with your neighbors about how Reichert has voted with the President 100% of the time on the war in Iraq and how Darcy worked with a coalition of retired military leaders and national security experts to create a responsible plan to end the war in Iraq. Talk about how Reichert claims to be a moderate but believes that pharmacist should have the right to deny to fill valid prescriptions for birth control, not Plan B but actual birth control  which 82% of women take at some point during their reproductive years. Share Darcy’s five principles that will guide her decision making:
    1. Government should treat everyone fairly.
    2. Hard Work should be rewarded.
    3. Government should stay out of people’s private lives.
    4. We should keep our promises.
    5. We Should leave our children a better world than the one we found.
  3. Volunteer on the campaign.  Help make phone calls, host events, walk neighborhoods, staff booths at community events, help with mailings and more. This is a people powered campaign and we need you!
