Democracy for America Training Weekend

DFA Training in Kent, Feb. 23-24

A large number of people turned out to participate in a regional grassroots and campaign training conducted by Democracy for America.  Sponsored by the Darcy Burner for Congress campaign, the 8th CD Democrats and the Eastside DFA, the training included sessions on:

  • Developing a Field Plan
  • Developing a Message
  • Fundraising
  • Voter Contact
  • Working with the Media,
  • Volunteer Management
  • The Neighborhood Leader's Program
  • Precinct Organizing
  • Using VoteBuilder

Darcy Addresses the DFA Training Session Darcy was on hand to talk with the participants at the start of the two-day session and then again at lunch.  Several local candidates and their staff attended to get pointers on how to run their campaign.  And, many local grassroots folks came to learn how to maintain the level of participation that we saw at the Democratic caucuses.

Both Darcy's campaign and the local Democratic organizations will be working with the material to determine what will be of most use to other activists.   Plan on seeing local training sessions that incorporate what we all learned here.

Thanks to Al Garman for the photos.
