Project Hot Seat

Darcy joined the local Project Hotseat event, entitled "Step it Up: 2007" on November 3rd as a panelist.  The event, held at South Bellevue Community Center, was one of hundreds of similar events across the country and dozens across the state.  These climate change awareness gatherings included similar community forums, marches, letter-writing parties and a bike rally.

When Darcy spoke, she said that the awareness that we have to deal with global warming is taking hold.  Now, when she talks with people about their priority issues, the responses are:
  • Get us out of Iraq
  • Deal with Global Warming
  • Deal with Healthcare

She said the inclusion of Global Warming is new to the list, even from last year.  People are becoming more aware of the need to address climate change and global warming.
