Darcy Selected for DCCC “Red to Blue” Program
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced it's first round of Red to Blue candidates who are challenging Republican incumbents today. According to the DCCC, these 13 challengers, including Darcy, "earned a spot in the program by surpassing demanding fundraising goals and skillfully demonstrating to voters that they stand for change and will represent new priorities when elected to Congress". The program highlights top Democratic campaigns across the country.
According to Chairman Chris Van Hollen, shown above with Darcy, the program "will give them the financial and structural edge to be even more competitive in November".
The DCCC's Red to Blue Program has been a proven success. It raised nearly $22.6 million for 56 campaigns in 2006 for an average of $404,000 per campaign.
