Democrats Work Green River Clean Up
Darcy Burner put on her work gloves for a Green River clean up near Flaming Geyser State Park in Auburn on Saturday May 3rd. After introductions, donuts, and instructions about 20 volunteers organized by Democrats Work set out to collect trash from the roadsides and riverbeds near the park.
The volunteer team clad in blue Democrats Work t-shirts collected over 50 trash bags full of cans, bottles, snack packages, plastic bags, and a large assortment of broken bits and pieces. Darcy felt great about seeing the dramatic improvement that the group had on the areas where they worked. It was empowering to see local Democrats putting their values into action by participating in this day of protecting and restoring the Green River and our local environment.
