Plan to End the War in Iraq Released March 17th
Six months ago, I initiated an effort to develop effective policy and political strategies to end the war in Iraq. Since then I have been working with leading military experts, policy analysts, national security experts, and a group of top-tier Congressional candidates and elected officials from around the country to draft a plan to bring the War in Iraq to a responsible end. After a lot of hard work, I am pleased to announce that we will be launching our plan on March 17th at the Take Back America Conference in Washington, D.C.
The plan sets out, in some detail, the steps that Congress can take to convert our current military involvement in Iraq into a comprehensive political, diplomatic and economic effort to assist the Iraqi people through a difficult transition. It also details the many areas in which we need to take action to deal with the serious damage this misguided war has caused.
