Free Lead Testing of ToysIn recent months, manufacturers have been forced to recall many popular toys after toxic chemicals like lead and cadmium were discovered in them. Many other toys containing dangerous contaminants remain on the market, according to local and national environmental and consumer protection groups. Like countless other parents, this crisis has impacted Darcy’s family. “My son, Henry, had been playing with Thomas the Tank Engine toys that contained lead.” Darcy is joining with local community leaders to test toys in seven Eastside and South Sound communities for contamination with lead and other toxic chemicals. Parents can bring in toys (or other children's products) and have them tested on site at no charge. Help Us Get This Information OutPlease help focus attention on this important issue. Bring in holiday presents for your children and their current toys to be tested. Tell others about the project. Download our flyer and send it to them. Call Darcy’s office, (425) 443-2564, to volunteer. Follow the link below to our press release for a list of times and locations or see the flyer. |
